Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics

Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics focus on the preservation of natural teeth and preventing tooth loss by addressing dental problems early on. Our department's primary objective is to provide specialized training on the restoration of diseased teeth through the utilization of advanced restorative materials while minimizing the removal of healthy tooth structures. Our department offers a comprehensive range of dental treatments, including emergency pain management, management of deep caries using biomimetic materials, and restoration of decayed teeth with silver amalgam as well as tooth-colored fillings, inlays and onlays, root canal treatments, crowns, veneers, bleaching, post and core and crowns, and regeneration procedures.

Our department offers a three-year postgraduate program approved by the Dental Council of India, which includes clinical training in treating a wide range of cases. The program also involves chair-side discussions, case presentations, seminars, journal club presentations, and assessments. Our students are encouraged to present posters and papers at national conferences and prepare case reports and research studies for peer-reviewed journals to prepare them for their future academic and professional careers. Our students have won several best paper awards at national specialty conferences for their scientific papers and poster presentations.

Furthermore, the department boasts fully-equipped preclinical laboratories, both for undergraduates and postgraduate students, that are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and phantom heads. This facility is designed to provide students with hands-on training and a "feel" for the treatment procedures before they are carried out on actual patients. The laboratory provides an opportunity for students to practice their skills and refine their techniques under the supervision of experienced faculty members.

Our efficient team of faculty provides a dedicated interactive session with hands-on training to students to improve their clinical expertise, alongside theoretical knowledge thus preparing them to become proficient dental professionals capable of providing high-quality dental care to their patients.
