This BLS Workshop was organized at the Examination Hall, Hazaribag College of Dental Sciences & Hospital from March 21st to March 22nd, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Hazaribag College of Dental Sciences & Hospital has organised a Basic Life Support (BLS) Workshop, led by Dr. Devanshu Sinha, MDS, Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a certified BLS Provider recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA). This workshop promises to equiped participants with essential life-saving skills. Dr. Devanshu Sinha's extensive experience and dedication to the field ensured a high-quality learning experience for all attendees.
Under the patronage of Dr. K. Sri Krishna, the principal of Hazaribag College of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Dr. Devanshu Sinha guided participants through a meticulously crafted curriculum, covering crucial aspects of Basic Life Support. This workshop served as an invaluable opportunity for students pursuing Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), and intern’s programs to enhance their proficiency in emergency response techniques.
Key highlights of the workshop include:
- Emergency Activation: Learn the importance of prompt and effective response during emergencies.
- Chain of Survival: Understand the sequential steps critical for increasing survival rates in cardiac arrest cases.
- High-Quality Chest Compression: Master the technique of providing effective chest compressions to maintain circulation.
- Adult, Child, Infant CPR: Tailor CPR techniques to suit individuals of varying age groups for optimal care.
- Basic Airway Management: Acquire essential skills for managing airways to facilitate breathing.
- Bag Mask Ventilation: Learn proper utilization of bag-mask devices for assisted ventilation.
- AED / Defibrillators: Understand the role and operation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in resuscitation efforts.
- Choking Management: Develop proficiency in techniques to relieve airway obstructions caused by choking.
Participants will engaged in hands-on training, interactive sessions, and simulation exercises, ensuring practical experience and confidence in executing BLS procedures effectively.
Upon successful completion of the workshop, participants received certificates from the principal and workshop speaker, symbolizing their dedication to acquiring and honing life-saving skills.
