Rangoli Event Organized on 'National Oral Pathology Day' at Hazaribag College of Dental Sciences and Hospital

Hazaribagh, February 25: A Rangoli competition was held today at the Oral Pathology Department of Hazaribagh College of Dental Sciences & Hospital to mark National Oral Pathology Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about early diagnosis and timely intervention in oral diseases through pathology awareness.

The program commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony and cake-cutting by Dr. Praveen Shrinivas, Secretary, Shrinivas Sarvmangalam. Students actively participated in the Rangoli competition, showcasing creative and impactful designs that captivated everyone. The event also featured expert discussions on oral diseases and essential preventive measures. Through Rangoli art, a strong message was conveyed about oral disease prevention.

Dr. H.M. Dholakia Banner on Hazaribag Dental College

The occasion was dedicated to the birth anniversary of Dr. H.M. Dholakia, India's first oral pathologist and the pioneer of the country's first MDS course in Oral Pathology. Both faculty members and students paid tribute to his invaluable contributions to the field of oral healthcare.

The winners of the Rangoli competition—Final Year Students: Sakshi Mishra, Manvi Das, Amisha Gandhi, and Shefali Swaroop—were honored with certificates and best wishes for their future endeavors.

Oral Health Awareness Emphasized

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Praveen Shrinivas highlighted the importance of oral health, stating, "Teeth and the oral cavity are invaluable parts of the human body, contributing to aesthetics and ease of eating. Regular check-ups are essential for maintaining good oral health." He also addressed common misconceptions about oral check-ups and guided patients on preventive measures.

Prof. (Dr.) Ankur Bhargav, HoD of Oral Pathology and Vice Principal, emphasized that National Oral Pathology Day is observed nationwide in memory of Dr. H.M. Dholakia, honoring his contributions to the field.
