PHARMACOLOGY

Pharmacology is the science of drug action on biological systems. It includes knowledge of the sources, chemical properties, biological effects and therapeutic uses of drugs.

The objective of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is to educate the undergraduate (Dental) students to apply basic principles of Pharmacology and Therapeutics to practice rational use of drugs.

To accomplish these objectives, the department is composed of primary facilities and technical supporting staff. The department engages in various programs of classroom instructions and laboratory work for undergraduate students. Laboratory work includes teaching basics of pharmacy with clinical implications of various pharmacy practicals.
